Kailua Kona Dojo

Roland Yamamoto is the Sensei of the Kailua-Kona Dojo (IKL). Joining the International Karate League (IKL) in 2013, he was promoted to Yondan (4th Degree Blackbelt) by Walter Nishioka Shihan on October 31, 2024. On July 12, 2025, he was elevated into the Honorable Order of the Kikyo by Stephen Lodge,
Nidaime Shihan of the IKL.
Previously, Roland achieved a Nidan rank (2nd Degree Blackbelt) from the Washington Karate Association, Bellevue Dojo.
Now retired, he was a producer/director for television, computer games and digital marketing. His hobbies include photography, travel, surfing, and outrigger canoe paddling.
