Bahde Sensei joined the SKL in 1985 as a Shodan and is currently a Nanadan with the IKL. He has been training in traditional Japanese martial arts since 1972 and holds Dan level ranking in Judo, Tang Soo Do, Tae Kwon Do, Aikijutsu and Shotokan Karate. Bahde Sensei is currently a Yondan in Sakurai-Ha Kendo a pre-war system that includes live blade Iaido, Kumotachi and Keiko using both the Bokuto and Shinai.

Bahde Sensei is a retired Police Lieutenant with over 30 years of experience including arrest control tactics, combatives, and SWAT operations. Currently an SME (Subject Matter Expert) on tactics, use of force and firearms for the Federal Courts he has worked on numerous cases including multiple homicides. Bahde Sensei is a Firearms and Tactics instructor at Gunsite Academy in Paulden AZ. A published author Bahde Sensei has published over 1500 articles in numerous magazines, periodicals, and books concerning both firearms and martial arts application.
